Luteri, 73, of 732 Forestridge Drive, who died of a heart ailment Sept. 21 in the Southside Medical Center where he had been a patient two weeks. Luteri was born May 31, 1912, in Somerset, a son of Joseph and Lucy (Laveratti) Luteri. Graduated from Somerset High School and North Carolina State College. He retired in 1974 as a salesman for the General Motors Acceptance Corp. where he was employed 28 years. He had been a lieutenant during World War II, serving in the military intelligence bureau of the Army Air Corps. He was a member of Boardman United Methodist Church, Sulgrave Lodge 696, F.&A.M. and American Legion Post 565. His first wife, the former Berniece Starr, died in 1966. He leaves his wife, the former Elizabeth A. (Culp) Carlson, whom he married in 1971; a son, Dr. George F. of Mount Prospect, Ill.; a daughter, Starr L. Hicks of Louisville, Ky.; a stepson, David E. Carlson of Phoenix, Ariz.; a stepdaughter, Kathy L. Deskin of Youngstown, Ohio; two sisters, Josephine Brant of Meyersdale; and Maria L. Schrock of Somerset and three grandchildren.
