Lykens, 89 of the Homewood Retirement Center, Martinsburg, PA, formerly of Somerset, died Sunday morning, Aug. 23, 1998, at the center following a lengthy illness. Born July 6, 1909, in Oreminea, Williamsburg RR 2, Blair County. The son of the late Mark C. and Emma (Noland) Lykens. Preceded in death by one sister and six brothers. Survived by his wife, the former Ollena P. Moreland; one daughter, Pastor Retta L. Lykens of Hyde Park, N.Y.; two sisters, Ruth L. Wheland and Grace L. Hicks, both of Williamsburg; two brothers, Cloyd E. and Rev. Ray F., both of Williamsburg; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Everett Church of God and retired as the director of evangelism for the Church of God, State of Pennsylvania. Prior to that, he served pastorates at Lebanon, Somerset and Williamsburg. Services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the Everett Church of God by the Rev. C.B. Shaal.
