Lyons Jr., 75, Ebensburg, died July 3, 1998, at Indian Lake Borough. Born Sept. 2, 1922 in St. Benedict, son of the late James and Ella (Decker) Lyons Sr. Preceded in death by brothers, George and Ralph Lyons. Survived by wife, Betty Jane (Houck) Lyons, ending a loving marriage union of 50 years; and these children: Linda Lyons Hall, Georgia; James H. Lyons III, married to the former Laurel L. Henry, Ebensburg; Patty Jayne (Lyons), wife of Donald C. Supcoe, of Charleston, W.Va.; also 8 grandchildren. Honored U.S. Army veteran, having served in the European Theater with the 44th Engineer Division. Founder of Lyons Cable Repair and owner of Keystone Industrial Products for 45 years. Member of Ebensburg Presbyterian Church, where he had served as a trustee and elder. Served on the board of Laurel Bank, Ebensburg, and the B.T. Management Trust Company of Johnstown. He was a participating member of the Conemaugh Memorial Hospital Mental Health Board and the Cambria County Waste Management Board. A long-standing member of the Sunnehanna Country Club, he also enjoyed lifetime membership in the VFW and American Legion and was a member of the Johnstown Elks and Ebensburg Oddfellows Lodge. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Monday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ebensburg Presbyterian Church, the Reverends Donna Hess and Jack Noble officiating. Entombment at Grandview Mausoleum, Johnstown. Veteran's Cemetery Rite by the Menoher Post 155 Ritual Team. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Ebensburg Presbyterian Church, North Center Street, Ebensburg, Pa., 15931.
