Lyons, 75, Somerset, died Feb. 13, 1998, at Somerset Hospital. Born Nov. 23, 1922, in Milford Township, son of Edward J. and Minnie (Fresh) Lyons. Preceded in death by parents, sister, Evelyn and brother, Ernest. Survived by his wife, Erma (Watkins) Lyons, to whom he was married for 45 years; children: Carol, married to Ronald Yinkey, Somerset; Bonnie, married to Robert K. Ritenour, Friedens; Bill, Tulsa, Okla., and Jerry, Somerset; grandchildren: Tina, Christopher, Ryan Eric, Sherri, Johnny and Andy. Brother of: Bessie Faidley, Somerset; Hazel Nichols, Confluence; Mary Sanner and Pearl Lyons, both of Nemacolin; and Edward Lyons, Somerset. Veteran of the U.S. Army in W.W. II, where he served in the 159th Combat Engineer Battalion. Retired owner of Lyons Boron station in Somerset. Member of the Geiger Church of the Brethren. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. Funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the Geiger Church of the Brethren, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Gerald Deffenbaugh officiating.
