Born Nov, 6, 1919, in Stoystown. Son of the late Ellwood and Gladys (Johnson) Mong. Survived by his wife of 55 years; two daughters; three grandchildren and a brother. Owner and operator of the former Mong's Esso Exxon in Stoystown for 43 years. N.O.A.A. weather observer for many years. A World War II Army veteran, having served with the 304th M.P.E.G. Co. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and Robert P. Hite Post 257, American Legion, both of Stoystown. He loved building model cars and had a genuine love of the automobile. No visitation or viewing. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's U.C.C. Stoystown, Rev. Paul E. Claycomb.
