The Somerset herald: (Somerset, Pa.) 1870-1936: May 05, 1875
At his residence near Stoystown, on Saturday, May 1st, John Mong, in the 68th year
of his age. Mr. Mong was one of our best known citizens. He held the office of
County Treasurer and was chosen Commissioner at five different elections. He was man
of decided talent, and one whose loss is deeply regretted by the entire community.
His remains were followed to the Somerset cemetery by a large concourse of people.
