Mack, 82, Carpenters Park Road, Davidsville, died July 7, 2000, Conemaugh Medical Center. Born March 19, 1918, in Moxham, son of William F. and Christina (Mohr) Mack. Preceded in death by parents; and brothers, George and John. Survived by wife of 43 years, the former Betty Clark. Brother of William, Johnstown; Margaret Velsor, Long Island, N.Y.; Catherine Boerstler, Altamonto Springs, Fla; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Member of St. David's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davidsville, where he served on council owner and operator of Somerset Business Machine for 34 years. Member of Elks, Lodge 175, Johnstown; Connumach Lions Club for 37 years, where he served as president, assistant tail twister and served on the board of directors and membership committee; he sponsored 15 new members. He did the sponsor ads for the Lions calendar. In 1997 he received the Melvin Jones Award, the highest honor in Lionism. Member of the Inter Service Club, Johnstown, where he served as past president, reservation chairman for the annual award dinner. He had an active interest in Green Hills, a tree planting project. Family receiving friends from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc., Davidsville, and from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. David's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Nelson F. Ilgenfritz. Entombment, Richland Cemetery.
