Born Feb. 15, 1920 in Mt. Carmel, Pa., the son of the late John P. and Elizabeth (Sekola) Mack. Also preceded in death by brothers, George and Bernard Mack. Survived by his wife, the former Hester Brant, to whom he was married 55 years; daughters, Mrs. David (Suzanne) Smith, and Mrs. David (Carolyn) Tripp, both of Somerset; 6 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 6 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Mack of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was instrumental in organizing the 55 and Over Speeders. Employed at the Somerset County Courthouse in the Recorder of Deeds office and was also Chief Assessor for many years. He owned and operated Betty Brite Dry Cleaners for eight years. Also employed at the Somerset Area Office of Aging for 16 years until his retirement in 1993. Active as chairman of the Republican Party Committee for many years. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli Celebrant. Committal, Somerset County Memorial Park. Vigil for the deceased will be at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Somerset "In Touch" Hospice, 1590 N.
