    Nick T. Maffeo, 67, Gaithersburg, Md. formerly of Windber died
  March 13, 2001 in Washington, D.C.  Born Sept. 6, 1933 in Windber,
  son of Nick and Tomasina (Chieffa) Maffeo.
    Preceded in death by parents, and sister Amelia Novak.  Survived by
  wife the former Eleanor Rizzo and these sons: Nick J., David A.,
  Jerome D. and Vincent P., all of Gaithersburg.  Also grandchildren
  Melissa, Jessica and Christina.  Brother of Maryann Maffeo, Frank
  Maffeo, Connie Turcato and Jean Barta, all of Windber, and Angie
  Studinary, Ruskin, Fla.  Also munerous nieces and nephews.  Mr.
  Maffeo was employed by Metro Transit in the Washington, D.C. area. 
  Army veteran of Korean Conflict.  Member of St. Martin's Catholic
  Church, Gaithersburg.  
    The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Thursday at Meek Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where vigil for the
  deceased will be held.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m.
  Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber.  Committal,
  Church cemetery.
