     Freda L. Mahler, 92, Wellsboro, formerly of Friedens, died Sept. 14, 2008, at Broad
  Acres Nursing Home, Wellsboro. Born Nov. 3, 1915, in Davidsville, the daughter of Ammon
  and Hettie (Kaufman) Wingard. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John; brothers,
  John, Paul and Orie Wingard; and sisters, Minnie Miller and Eva Wagner. Survived by
  children, Robert Mahler, Somerset; Caroline Mahler, Margate, Fla.; Larry Mahler,
  Brentwood, Tenn.; Linda Duppstadt, Tennessee; Katherine, married to Kim Metzgar,
  Wellsboro; Darlene, married to Glenn Klink, Friedens; Wanda Elsea, Staunton, Va.; Connie
  Crum, Matamoras; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Sister of Robert
  Wingard, Friedens; and Willard Wingard, Johnstown. She attended Reading Grace Brethren
  Church, Stoystown and she enjoyed playing bingo and gardening. Family will receive
  friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing
  from 10 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m. Thursday at Reading Grace Brethren Church.
