He was born April 30, 1938, in Washington, Pa., the son of the late Calvin Lee and Mary E. "Peg" Marple Maize. Survived by his wife, Constance P. "Tori" Maize; sons, Donald Lee Maize, Fontana, Calif., and Daniel Maize, Somerset; daughters, Debbie Sweeney, Chattaroy, Wash., and Diane Maize, McKeesport; sisters, Janet McAtee, Elizabeth Township, and Kathy Babyak, Versailles; and a brother, William J. Maize, Versailles; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a member of the former Mount Zion Church. A 32nd degree Mason and member of the Somerset F&AM Lodge and the Shrine. He was a retired welder for Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh where he was also Union Steward. Donald served in the Marine Corps 4 1/2 years and also in the Army for three years, serving in the 101st Airborne. Friends are welcome from 12 to 4 p.m. and 6 until service at 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. His brother, William J. Maize, will be officiating. Military honors will follow.
