  MAJOR 
  
  Joseph Hammond Major, 49, of Confluence, died Sept. 13, 1986.  Born
  Sept. 12, 1937, in San Diego, Calif., son of Walter H. and Julia P.
  (Tulloch) Major.  Survived by his mother and father of Confluence;
  brother, Michael T. Major; and sister-in-law, Vera C. Major of
  Uniontown; sister, Eleanor Major Rice; and brother-in-law, R. Joe
  Rice of Confluence; nephews, Joseph H. Rice and Jonathan C. Major;
  and nieces, Joanna Page and Jessica Lynn Major.  Mr. Major worked for
  over 25 years for a New York City-based company of which he was vice
  president.  A memorial service will be held at Humbert Funeral Home,
  Confluence, on Saturday, Sept. 20.  There will be no viewing but the
  family will receive friends at 2 p.m. before the service at 2:30
  p.m., Pastor Michael T. Major officiating.  Interment, Jersey
  Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to "Living
  Stones Ministries" (Assistance to the Homeless) in care of Reformed
  Baptist Church, 148 Union St., Uniontown, Pa. 15401
