Born June 2, 1913 in Lincoln Twp., daughter of Edward Arthur and Minnie Catherine (Faidley) Hoffman. Preceded in death by parents; sisters Ida Airesman, Rosie Hoffman, Mary Bisel and Minnie Mae Hoffman; and foster brother Richard Emert. Survived by husband Reinhold Malas, to whom she was married for 46 1/2 years; children, Edward R.J. Hoffman, married to the former Barbara Ritson of Glades Pike, Somerset; grandchildren: Ricky J. Hoffman and Thomas Hoffman, both of Masontown; Michael Hoffman of Florida and James Hoffman of Masontown; step-grandchildren: William Nist of Somerset; Joseph Nist of Rockwood; Kenneth Nist of Shanksville; Mrs. Michael (Lisa) Hillegas of Manns Choice; Mark Nist of Somerset and Dean Nist of Somerset; and 9 great-grandchildren. Sister of Mrs. Roy (Lucy) Sheeler of Somerset. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Glen Savage. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Glen Savage with the Rev. John F. Jenista officiating. Interment, Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
