Mallery, 90, of Sterling, Va., died Jan. 27, 1997, at Loudoun Hospital Center, Leesburg, Va. He was born Nov. 17, 1906, in Blairsville, Pa., the son of the late John William and Bertha (Glass) Mallery. Mr. Mallery graduated from Meyersdale High School in 1925. During the 1930s and 1940s, he worked for Sears Roebuck and Company and was the top commission salesman nationally for the firm in the 1940s. He resigned from Sears and founded Mallery Fulmer Heating Co., Uniontown. He was an officer of the Second Presbyterian Church of Uniontown, serving on the board of trustees. Preceding him in death was his wife, Ruth Elizabeth Mallery. He is survived by five children: Sam Mallery Jr., wife, Naomi and children: Tad, Missy, Kim and Dr. Shawn, Dr. Anne Mallery and children: Rick (deceased), Valerie and Jody; John Mallery, wife, Lettie, and children: Tammy, Charles and Sarah; Jerry Mallery, wife, Rita, and children: Jennifer and Pat Mallery, wife Marilyn, and children: Jeremy and Carrie. There are 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church by Coronado Funeral Home of Leesburg, Va. Mr. Mallery will be remembered for his love of hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. Memorials can be sent to the Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church, Farmington, Pa.
