Countryman Manges, 79, formerly of Somerset and Boynton Beach, Fla., died Aug. 18, 1990, at her summer home in Hendersonville, N.C. Wife of late Miles Manges. Born Nov. 25, 1910. Preceded in death by parents, Jonas and Elizabeth Griffith; sisters, Hazel Chipkevich and Anna Mae Steiss, and brother, Grand Griffith. Also preceded in death by first husband, Telford H. Countryman. Survived by children: Robert Countryman, New York City; Terry Countryman, Lutz, Fla.; James Countryman, Inman, S.C., and Ardene Countryman Courchesne, Meriden, Conn.; grandchildren - Jeffrey Countryman, Sharon Summey and Bryan, Randy, Jennifer and Amy Courchesne; also two great-grandchildren. Also Stepchildren: Dorothy Yanek and Elaine Kaufman. Also survived by sisters: Rena Wilson, Miriam Schaefer, Emily Shone, and brothers, James and Robert Griffith; also several nieces and nephews. For many years prior to her retirement, Mrs. Manges was employed at J.C. Penny Co. in Somerset. Burial arrangements were made at convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held later.
