(Shorty) Manges, 73, 316 Railroad St., Jerome, died December 18, 1976 in Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born February 6, 1903 in Shade Township, Somerset county, son of John G. and Mary (Onstead) Manges. Preceded in death by parents and infant son, William; a granddaughter, Ellen Manges who died in 1968; an infant grandson; sister, Mrs. Ida Bowser; and brother, Charles. Survived by his widow, the former Olive C. Stern and these children: Clyde E, married to the former Nancy Saylor, Jerome; Anna Mae, wife of Paul Shaulis, Hollsopple RD2; Grace E., wife of Arley Frampton, Boswell RD 2; and Delores J., wife of Harold Weyant, Jerome; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandsons. Brother of Harry, Central City; and Mrs. Effie Crissey, Painesville, Ohio. Member and deacon of Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ, U.M.W. of A. and Jenner Rod and Gun Club. Mr. and Mrs. Manges celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on November 12, 1976. Friends were received Sunday evening and will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. George A. Clark officiating. Interment, Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
