Born Sept.21, 1917, in Bolivar, daughter of William and Esther (Montgomery) Bowers. Preceded in death by parents, beloved husband Orie C., infant daughter Esther Fern, grandson Keith Custer, stepmother Florence Findley, sister Jean Rallis, brother Philson Bowers, stepsister Wilda (Ressler) Coursin, and stepbrother Walter Ressler. Survived by these children: Fred married to the former Dorothy Denk, Larry married to the former Judy Walker and Robin married to Greg Stufft, all of Hooversville; Jerry married to the former Kathy Serre, Dunlo; Dan married to the former Barbara Darr, Confluence; Bonnie married to Don Eash, and Lori married to Denny Custer, all of Ohio; and Rick married to the former Garyl Gardner, Windber; 31 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and six great-great- grandchildren. Sister of Tess married to Stan Miller, Indiana and Leora Jean (Ressler) married to R. Galen Garland of Robinson. Widowed at the age of 42, Olive was a devoted and loving mother who will be sadly missed by her children, their spouses (who she loved like her own children), grandchildren, and all who knew her. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas and Trinity Lutheran Churches, Hooversville, and she loved her family and reading. Olive formerly worked at Glosser Bros. Bakery, Memorial Hospital Housekeeping Department, North Star School cafeteria and as a caregiver for the elderly. She taught and passed to her family many recipes like "patches." Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville. The Rev. Krista T. Vingelis officiating. Interment St. Thomas Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville, PA 15936.
