Manges, 80, Statler St., Central City, died July 7, 1998, in his home. Born Nov. 15, 1917, in Central City, a son of the late Charles and Alda (Custer) Manges. Preceded in death by his wife, Jane Labrel; 2 sons, Duane and Leighton; daughter, Sonja; and a sister, Olive. Survived by daughter, Deanna Rae Bauer, Toronto, Ohio; one stepson, James Labrel, Berlin, 20 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Retired from Reitz Coal Company. Member of U.M.W. of A. Veteran of World War II. Retired from PennDOT. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday.
