Born at Sand Patch, he was a son of Mrs. Margaret Weimer of Meyersdale. He was a member of the United Methodist Church; a former conductor for the Western Maryland Railroad, and a member of Local 1852, United Transportation Union. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of Old Rail Post 6025, VFW, Mt. Savage, Md.; Fort Cumberland Post 13, American Legion, and the Barrelville Outdoor Club. Besides his mother, he is also survived by his widow, Mrs. Virginia C. (Garlitz) Mankamyer; two daughters, Mrs. Judith Ann Ritchie, Frostburg, Md.; and Mrs. Yvonne Kay Arnold, Strasburg, Va.; four grandchildren, and his stepfather, William Weimer, Meyersdale. Funeral services were held Dec. 29 at the George Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair L. Leber officiating. Interment, Sunset Memorial Park. The Republic, January 5, 1978 [M0113]
