Mapes, 23, 348 West Catherine Street, Somerset, died June 4, 1987, at Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a vehicle-bicycle accident on Route 281. Born April 4, 1964, in Somerset, son of the late Lewis R. Mapes. Survived by his mother, the former Susan (Billetdeoux) Mapes; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Joseph (Gertrude) Billetdeoux of Ebensburg; the following brothers and sisters; David, Rebecca, Margaret and Christopher, all of Somerset; Mrs. Donald (Mary Beth) Durst of Meyersdale; James of Lake Placid, N.Y.; Mrs. John (Linda) Wilson, Fort Worth, Texas; Stephen, Morgantown, W. Va.; Timothy, Berlin; and Mrs. Richard (Patricia) Madey, Harrisburg. Member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Somerset. Class of 1982, Somerset Area High School; Class of 1987, Indiana University of Pa. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home where rosary will be recited Sunday at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, the Rev. Monsignor Samuel J.
