All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ LOUISE LESLIE MAPLE Mrs. Louise Leslie Maple, aged 67 years, died at 2 o'clock Saturday, Sept. 20, at her home at Berlin, Ohio, of heart trouble. She was born March 27, 1863, near Addison, Pa., a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Archibald Bird. She was twice married, her first husband, Isaac Leslie died about 28 years ago. Eight years later she married W. C. Maple, a widower, of Berlin, Ohio, with whom she lived happily until her death. She is survived by her second husband, and one son by her first husband, Raymond Leslie of Somerset; also by one granddaughter, Wilma Leslie, and one brother, Alfred Bird of Listonburg. The late W. A. Scott Bird, Esq., of Topeka, Kansas, and Orville Bird, father of the well known Bird Brothers of Meyersdale, were also brothers of hers. Mrs. Maple was a member of the Church of God and spent her entire life in devotion to her church and family and friends. She was very highly esteemed by all who knew her and is deeply mourned by those nearest and dearest to her. Her body was brought to Ursina, Pa., for burial, funeral services being held in the Church of God at that place at 3 p.m., Sept. 23rd. Those who attended the funeral were: Misses Rachel, Abby and Florence Maple of Berlin, Ohio; E. W. Leslie, of Massillon, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde M. Fall, H. J. DeBolt, Paul and Bryan Mitchell of Hazelwood, Pa.; Ethel Shultz, of Pittsburgh; Mr. and Mrs. Leinford Leslie and son, Alvin, and Mr. and Mrs. William DeBolt, of Connellsville; Albert Fulmer and son, Ernest, and Auther Bird, of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Mr. and Mrs. George Leslie of Uniontown, Pa.
