    Robert Wayne "Bob" Mardis Sr., 66, Rockwood, went to be with the Lord, Oct. 4, 2008, at
  Somerset Hospital, Somerset. Born July 8, 1942, in Baltimore, Md., he was the only child
  of the late James Russell and Irene Gertrude (Mansky) Mardis. He is survived by his wife
  of 40 years, Helen Patricia (Weimer) Mardis, formerly of Avilton, Md., whom he married
  April 20, 1968; sons, James Russell "Jim" Mardis and Missy, Markleton; Robert Wayne "Jed"
  "Cowboy" Mardis and Heather, Somerset; daughters, Donna Lee Morgan and companion, Bernell
  Pugh, Somerset; Nancy Sue Engle and husband, Craig A. Engle, Garrett; and four
  grandchildren, Jesse Michael Morgan, David James Mardis, Maddie Irene Engle and Carrie Jo
  Engle. Robert enjoyed many outdoor activities as an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He
  was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset, and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was
  retired from PennDOT as a heavy equipment operator. There will be no viewing. A Memorial
  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. Peter's Catholic
  Church, Somerset. The Rev. Daniel J. O'Neill officiating. Newman Funeral Home Inc., 9168
  Mason- Dixon Highway, Salisbury, is in charge of arrangements. Please omit flowers.
