Marenna, 73, Somerset, died Jan. 5, 1985, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Feb. 22, 1911, in Shamokin, Pa., son of the late Nicholas and Catherine (Chowka) Marenna. Also preceded in death by his sister, Julia. Survived by his wife, the former Erna C. Critchfield; and these brothers and sisters: Steve, Mary, Helen, Anna and Catherine Marenna, all of Shamokin. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and a former deacon. He was a member of the Pa. State Police from April 1938 until March 1961; and was a Somerset Borough Justice of the Peace from January 1962 until January 1974. World War II veteran. Member of the American Legion, F.O.P. and Retired Army Officers Association. Friends received from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Monday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Service will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Paul's United Church of Christ, with the Rev. William Mulford officiating. Interment, Rockwood Cemetery. Body will lie in state at the church from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Paul's United Church of Christ Sound System Fund.
