MARGROFF COVE, Md., June 14 - This community was greatly shocked by the sudden death of Frank Margroff, who was taken ill on Sunday morning, June 5, at his home, and was rushed to the Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Sunday evening, at which place he died on Tuesday evening following, at 6 o'clock. He was born here 52 years ago, and was a son of the late Edward and Sarah Daniels Margroff. He was united in marriage 31 years ago to Miss Matilda Zahner, who survives him. He is survived also by the following children: Lawrence and Helen of Akron, O.; Clara, Walter and Carl, at home. The youngest son, Carl, was 15 years old the day his father was called to his eternal rest. Deceased is also survived by two brothers, Harry of this place, and Henry, of Akron, Ohio, and by four sisters, Ida of Wisconsin, Elizabeth, Emma and Nora of Akron, Ohio, and by one grandchild. Mr. Margroff was a member of the German Lutheran Church, and the funeral service was held at the church where he worshipped, on Friday morning, the 10th inst., and was largely attended. The floral tributes were many, and very beautiful. Mr. Margroff will be greatly missed in this community, where he leaves many friends. Meyersdale Republican, June 16, 1932
