Marker, 78, of Meyersdale, formerly of Berlin, passed on Jan. 14, 2002, at Meyersdale Hospital. Born Jan. 28, 1923, in Garrett. Son of the late Wilmer G. and Cora (Spaughy) Marker. Preceded in death by parents and wife Janet (Landis) Marker in 1983. Survived by children Edward, married to Betty, Marker of Berlin; John, married to Patricia, Marker of Macdonaldton; Crystal Marker of Rockwood; and April, married to Kevin McDaniel of Stoystown; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Brother of Wilmer G. Marker Jr. of Garrett, Ethel Marker of Somerset, Etta Jean Custer of Berlin, Gordon Marker of Somerset, Glenda Weimer of Meyersdale, and Lawrence Marker of Garrett. Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He was a retired coal miner and member of the United Mine Workers Association. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Somerset. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Russell Kessler officiating.
