Marker, 72, of Garrett, died May 12, 2003 at his home. He was born Aug. 30, 1930 in Somerset County. Son of the late Milton and Mabel (Marker) Marker. He was preceded in death by wife Joyann Lindeman Marker, brother Ray and sister Mary Lenhart. Survived by his wife, Jean R. Decker, and these children: Rick Decker, Garrett; Ruth Collins, Three Springs; Rose Augustine, Berline; brother of Oscar Marker, Dorothy Marker, and Rosalie Metheney all of Garrett, Dale Gene Marker, New Paris and Mamie Estnick, Berlin. Attended Garrett United Methodist Church. Was a veteran of the Korean War. Member and Past Commander of Charles E. Kelly American Legion Post 112, Meyersdale and a 25-year member of the Motiner Square Dance Club. Former employee of Sanner Lumber Co., Ray Brooks Co. and Soberdash Coal Co. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale where the funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday with Revs. Joe Orner and Marlin Miller officiating. Military service will be held Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
