Born Dec. 22, 1902, in Gregory, W. Va. Preceded in death by stepfather, John Brown; mother, Mary (Gibson) Brown; husband, John Junior Marple, 1956, and daughter, Mary Ruth. Survived by these children: Jon "Pat," married to Ruby M. Johnson, New Port Ritchie, Fla.; Nancy, widow of John Dorusha, with whom she resided; Creda, wife of Herbert Ritter, Baltimore, Md.; George, married to Georgia Gardner, Somerset RD 8; and Richard G., Jennerstown. Also eight grandchildren: Wayne, Ronald, Craig, Larry and Michael Marple, Richard Flickinger, Deborah Effler and Beverly Harpersberger, and eight great-grandchildren. Member of the United Methodist Church, Heaters, W.Va. Along with husband, owned and operated the former Marple Service Station and Auction, Somerset RD 2, for several years. Friends received from 6 p.m. until time of service at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, the Rev. Edward N. Corneilson officiating.
