Marple, 75, formerly of 232 North Centre Street, died Friday, February 15, 1985, at the Cumberland Nursing Home, Maryland, where she had been a patient for one year. Born in Meyersdale, she was a daughter of the late Perley W. White and Minerva (Shockey) White. She was the former owner and operator of Marple's Jewelry Store, Marple's Motel and Marple's Apartments on North Centre Street. She was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church and the Cumberland Country Club. Her husband, A. Lee Marple, died in 1969. Surviving are one son, Ronald Lee Marple, Washington D.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Bowman, Cumberland, Maryland; Mrs. Viola Haer, Red Lion; Mrs. Mary Fike, Meyersdale; two brothers, Ernest White and Charles White, both of Meyersdale. Friends were received at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence where services were held Monday by the Rev. Sadie E. Triplett and the Rev. John H. Williams. Interment, Hillcrest Burial Park.
