All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ MARY MARTEENEY Mrs. Mary (Metzler) Marteeney, aged 72, wife of David Marteeney, of Somerset, died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 28, at her home, following a brief illness of pneumonia. Her husband, who also had been bedfast for a week, suffering from an attack of influenza, was able to attend the funeral, but a daughter, Miss Gertrude Marteeney, was seriously ill with pneumonia at the parental home. Mrs. Marteeney was a daughter of Thomas and Nancy (Hemminger) Metzler, both deceased. She was born in Somerset Township. Mr. and Mrs. Marteeney made their home on a farm in Milford Township until 15 years ago, when they removed to Somerset. Mrs. Marteeney is survived by her husband, her daughter, mentioned above; a son, William A. Marteeney, of Somerset R.D. No. 1, and two sisters, Mrs. John Stahl and Mrs. Henry Felton, both of Somerset. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Grace Evangelical Church, in charge of the Rev. Dr. H. W. Kaebnick, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Earl C. Weaver, pastor of the Somerset United Brethren Church. Interment will be in the Husband Cemetery, in charge of Charles R. Hauger, local mortician. Meyersdale Republican, January 5, 1933
