  MARTEENY
  
    Karen Jean Marteeny, 23, of Somerset RD 6, died April 28, 1993, in
  the John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md.  Born June 27, 1969, in
  Somerset, daughter of William Dean and Constance M. (Barnett)
  Marteeny of Somerset RD 6.  Preceded in death by paternal
  grandfather, George E. Marteeny.  Survived by parents and brother,
  Mark E. Marteeny, married to the former Tracey Smith of Somerset; by
  paternal grandmother, Helen B. Marteeny of Somerset RD 6, and
  maternal grandparents, James and Ida Mae Barnett of Boswell RD 2.  A
  1991 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  She was a home
  economics teacher at Somerset Junior High School.  Member of Mt.
  Calvary Lutheran Church, Lavansville.  She was very active in the
  Roof Garden 4-H Club and the Dairy Dell's 4-H Club.  Member of the
  American Home Economics Association.  Friends received from 2 to 4
  and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held at 1:30
  p.m. Sunday at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, with Rev. Sherry Miller,
  Rev. Susan Winger and Rev. Walter Startzell officiating.  No viewing
  at the church.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.  Family
  suggests contributions in her memory to the Somerset County 4-H
  Development Fund, PO Box 150, Somerset, PA, 15501, or the Somerset
  School's Education Foundation, 821 South Columbia Ave., Somerset, PA
