Survived by his wife, Betty (Brocht) Marteeny; daughters: Elaine Marshall, Orlando, Fla.; Diane Langley, Eustis, Fla.; grandchildren: Christopher Langley and Nicholas Marshall; sisters: Ruth Murray, Somerset; Beatrice Hall, Umatilla, Fla.; in-laws: Charles and Beulah (Brocht) Martin, Somerset. Preceded in death by brothers: Clyde and Earl Marteeny. Formerly an independent truck owner, served as chief of police of Umatilla, Fla., for 17 years, veteran of World War II U.S. Naval Department, member of Shriners York Rights, American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Masons. Services Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. at the Beyers Funeral Home, Umatilla, Fla. Instead of flowers, family requests contributions to the American Heart Association.
