MARTIN Mrs. Elsie L. Martin, 59, of 227 East Alder Street, died March 23, 1979 at Dennett Road Manor, Oakland. Born in Casson, W.Va., September 15, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Eliza and Mary A. (Huffman) Hershman. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Andrew Funk, Hercel Kline, and Foster R. Martin. Mrs. Martin was a member of Faith Tabernacle, Grafton W. Va. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Helen Wiles, Amboy W. Va.; Mrs. Janet Freeman, Moatsville, W. Va.; Mrs. Dina Harris, Grafton, Md., and Mrs. Darla Niner, Oakland; eight sons, Ray Hershman, Crellin, Md.; Donnie Funk, Moatsville, Md.; Hall Funk, Grantsville, W. Va.; Gary Funk, Confluence; Larry Williams, Kingwood, W. Va.; Danny Cline, William Cline, Jerry Cline, all of Oakland; four sisters, Mrs. Naomi Waybright, Tunnellton, W. Va.; Mrs. Bessie Britton, Baltimore Md.; Mrs. Hazel Ward, Detroit, Mich. and Mrs. Dora Fout, Davis W. Va.; four brothers, Deal Hershman, Acie Hershman, Ross Hershman, all of Tunnellton, W. Va. and Dale Hershman, Oakland; 30 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home where services were conducted in MT Israel Methodist Church, Fellowsville, W. Va., by Rev. Lenore Nicholson. Interment Parish Cemetery.
