(Stankiewicz) Martin, 81, Laurel Wood Convalescent Center, Westmont, formerly of Miller Place N.Y., and Thomasdale, died May 31, 2001, at the center. Born July 26, 1919, in Queens N.Y., daughter of John A. and Adele (Swiatocha) Stankiewicz. Preceded in death by parents, husband of almost 54 years, Alfred G. Sr., Jan 15, 1992; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann (Obergfell) Martin, and one brother. Survived by these children: Alfred Jr., Tarpon Springs, Fla.; Gary married to the former Connie Moss, Hollsopple RD and Adele, married to Nicholas Weremeychik, Elmont, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, three great-grandsons three sisters and two brothers. Member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren near Jerome. Retired security guard for the district attorney's office in Suffolk County, N.Y.; and long time active member of the Suffolk County Republican Club. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Maple Spring Church. No viewing at the church. The Rev. Roger L. Forry officiating. Interment, church cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be given to the Maple Spring Church elevator fund, 106 Spring Road, Hollsopple, Pa. 15935.
