Martin, 75, of Jenkintown, Pa., formerly of Somerset, died Dec. 23, 1981, at Rydal Park Medical Center, Rydal, Pa. She was born March 10, 1906, at Kantner, the daughter of the late Andrew L. and Mary Jane (Lohr) Martin. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harry L. Martin. She was a sister of Joseph W. and Dora F., both of Somerset; also survived by a nephew, Jack L. Martin of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and nieces, Mrs. B.F. Walters of Somerset and Jolene A. Martin of Langhorne, Pa. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Somerset, and was the first woman in Somerset to obtain a pilot's license. She was a retired school teacher, and began her teaching career in Jenners and Acosta and continued in Cheltenham, Pa., from 1929 until her retirement. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Helweg Funeral Home, Jenkintown. Memorial service will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, Somerset, with the Rev. Harry Sherry officiating. Interment, Husband Cemetery. Daily American, December 26, 1981 [M0251]
