Jack Lowell Martin, 68, of Charlotte Harbour [sic], Fla., died Tuesday, March 3, 1987, in Medical Center Hospital, Punta Gorda, Fla. He was born in Somerset, the son of Harry and Martha (Gilmour) Martin, and moved to Florida in 1977. Col. Martin was a local businessman in Somerset prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Somerset; the Masonic Lodge; B.P.F.O.E.; American Legion; and the V.F.W. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; one sister, Mrs. Geneva Walters of Somerset; two step-daughters, Deborah L. Miller of Somerset; and Gwendolyn Ankney of Hilton Head, S.C.; and one step-son, Donald D. Newcomer of Somerset. Also surviving are niece, Carol Sue Witfield; nephew, James Martin Walters; and two aunts, Mrs. Ethel Knepper, and Mrs. Romaine Gilmour, both of Somerset. A memorial service will be held in Somerset when funeral arrangements are complete.
