  MARTIN
  
  James H. Martin, 69, of Somerset RD 4, died Dec. 19, 1982, at his
  home.  Born June 10, 1913, in Somerset County, son of the late Rock
  and Cordy (Yorty) Martin.  He was a resident of Melcroft for most of
  his life.  He was a former coal miner working in the Melcroft
  Mines.  He was owner and operator of Martin's Grocery Store in
  Melcroft for many years.  He was a member of the United Mine Workers
  of America; the Salt Lick Township Volunteer Fire Department; the
  Jennerstown Rod and Gun Club; and he was a member of St.
  Raymond-of-the-Mountains Roman Catholic Church.  He is survived by
  his wife, Nana Ruth (Hostetler) Martin; two sons: James R., of
  Melcroft; and Roy Dennis, at home; five grandchildren, three
  brothers: Rock Martin Jr., Seward; Harry Martin, Melcroft; and Samuel
  Martin, Connellsville; one sister, Mary Martin, Clearwater, Fla.  He
  was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Martin.  Friends will be
  received at the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc., Route 711 at
  Melcroft, from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday.  A Mass of
  Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St.
  Raymond-in-the-Mountains Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Francis
  Ott as celebrant.  Interment will follow, parish cemetery.  A parish
  rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
