She had been confined to her bed since May 1. She was the daughter of Pearson and Hester Specht Lohr of Kantner. She lived there throughout her girlhood and following her marriage to the late Andrew L. Martin, May 8, 1893. She removed to Somerset in 1920, where her husband was then engaged in business. She was a life-long member of the Methodist church, and active in it as long as her health permitted. Surviving are these children: Joseph W., operator and manager of the Somerset airport; Harry L., maintenance engineer of the Pennsylvania State Highway Department in Somerset County; Miss Dora, secretary in the offices of the Cherry Run Coal Mining Company, and Miss Hester, teacher in the Philadelphia schools. These brothers and sisters also survive: David Lohr, Kantner; Mrs. Wilson Custer, Kantner; Mrs. Elmer Boyts, Dayton, Virginia; James B. Lohr of Maryland and two grandchildren, Lieut. Jack Martin of Camp Walters, Texas, and Mrs. Blaine Walter of Somerset. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, under the direction of the Rev. Leonard H. Hoover of Dawson, former pastor of the Somerset Methodist Church. Meyersdale Republican, August 20, 1942
