He was the son of the late Carl W. and Emma (Forquer) Martin. Preceded in death by his wife Geraldine (Smith) Martin and two daughters Patricia A. Martin and Susan Martin and a son-in-law Ralph Davis. He is survived by: three sons, Robert F. Martin Jr. of Alexandria, Va., Charles E. Middletown, and Raymond F. Martin, Cumberland, Md.; six daughters, Barbara Ann Martin of Alexandria, Va., Debra A. Hanft of Hagerstown, Jane M. Burns of Jacksonville, N.C., Margie Davis of Cumberland, Md., Robin Shaffer, also of Cumberland, and Pam Mantheiy of Pasadena, Md. Also 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A sister Bernadine Waltz of Bel Air (Baltimore, Md.) and by two brothers, Carl W. Martin Jr. of Cumberland and Max W. Martin of Martinsburg, W.Va. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hafer Funeral Home, Chapel of the Hills, 1302 National Highway LaVale, Md. 21502 where service will be conducted at noon Tuesday with the Rev. Faye Leydig officiating. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 111 S. George St., Cumberland, Md. 21502. Mr. Martin was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in World War II. He was a member of the Cumberland, (Md.) American Legion Post 13.
