He was born March 21, 1890, in Scottdale the son of the late Lincoln A. Martz and Laura Berger Martz. He is survived by his wife Edna Howsare; three sons, Thurman of South Shore, Ky.; Ray of Prospect; and Alvey Jr. of Canton, Ohio; two daughters Mrs. Aline Pride of Morgantown, W.Va., and Miss Betty Martz of Meyersdale RD 3; two step-children, Vernon Howsare of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Alma Bahr of Akron, Ohio; two brothers, William Martz of York and Homer Martz of Cumberland, Md.; two sisters Mrs. Elma Lane and Mrs. Bessie Boyer, both of Glencoe; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of Company C and a member of the Berlin Odd Fellows Lodge. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today in the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale where services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Paul Snyder. Interment in Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
