Martz, 82, 419 South St., Berlin, died June 18, 1985, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born Sept. 13, 1902, in Boynton, son of Harvey C. and Clara (Enfield) Martz. Preceded in death by parents; his first wife, Fannie Davis, in 1950; and second wife, Sallie Gnagey, in 1980; also two sisters and three brothers. Survived by son, Kenneth, North Canton, Ohio; three stepdaughters: Mrs. Ray (Hilda) Fink, Somerset; Mrs. William (Betty) Firl, Meyersdale; and Mrs. I. Richard (Anna Bertha) Adams, Somerset; also eight grandchildren. Retired farmer and had worked 16 years for Snyder's of Berlin. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where he had served as a member of the council and as treasurer for several years. Member and past president and past treasurer of the Berlin-Brothersvalley Community Grove Association. Friends will be received Thursday (today) 7-9 p.m. at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home. Graveside services at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery, with the Rev. Kenneth S. Swanson officiating. Daily American, June 20, 1985 [M0299]
