Born April 27, 1953, in Johnstown the daughter of Samuel and Rose Marie (Calderone) Lamonica. Preceded in death by her beloved parents and sister Paulette Schivley. Survived by her husband and soul mate Mark Andrew Martz, her cherished daughter Lindsey Nicole Straka and grandson, Brody Hillegas; stepsons, Jason A. Martz, Gettysburg, and Steven J. Martz, Somerset. She is survived by brother Francis Lamonica and wife Sharon, Rockwell, N.C.; twin sister Jennifer Lamonica, Huntersville, N.C.; sister Mary Kay Yates and husband Leon, Warrenton, Va.; also nieces and nephews Michelle Willingham, Gina English, Diana Lamonica, Erika Yates, Tony Lamonica, Sean Youngblood, Mario Youngblood and Jordan Yates. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is a 1971 graduate of North Star High School, had received her bachelors in special education from West Virginia University and masters in special education from California (Pa.) University. She was a compassionate and dedicated special education teacher for the Rockwood Area Schools for nine years. She was an active volunteer for Birthright, Somerset, for nine years and was a volunteer for Special Olympics. Member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the PSEA. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother "Nonie," and a true and dear friend. She embraced and cherished the joys of life. She will be deeply grieved and forever missed. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli, celebrant. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
