Born in Fort Hill, she had lived in North Canton since 1957. She is preceded in death by her parents, Freeman and Pauline Sanner, and her sister, Judy Sanner, all of Berlin. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Kenneth Martz, of the home; two sons and daughters- in-law, Tim and Susan Martz, Louisville, Ohio, and Todd and Pradnya Martz of Oberlin, Ohio; three grand- children, Andrew Martz, Louisville, and Daria and Grant Martz of Oberlin. A graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and Hamel Business College in Akron, Ohio. Maxine was employed by the North Canton School System and later was a transcriptionist for Human Development and Counseling. For 35 years she was secretary for the North Canton Student Loan Foundation. She attended the Grace United Methodist Church. Maxine loved to travel. She enjoyed the company of many friends and the making of new friends while traveling. Her greatest joy was the family and the time they spent together. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church, 1720 Schneider St. NW, North Canton, Ohio. The Rev. Don Richards officiating. Burial will be in the North Canton Cemetery. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the doctors and staff of Gabriel Cancer Center.
