Born May 25, 1923 in Somerset. Son of Paul Clifford and Lucy Mac (Critchfield) Martz, Sr. Preceded in death by parents, brothers Jack L. and Billy D. Martz. Survived by wife the former Pauline Mary D'Amico to whom he was married 58 1/2 years; children: Paul C. "Rusty" Martz III, married to the former Joan Smith of Somerset; Michael S. Martz of Pittsburgh; Mark A. Martz married to the former Josephine Lamonica of Somerset; Mrs. Jonathan L. (Anne) Kimmel of Somerset; Mrs. James (Margaret) Polen of Bethel Park; Mrs. Vicente (Mary Kathryn) Asprer of Vallejo, Calif., and Matthew T. Martz, married to Christina Baker, Somerset. Grandchildren: Tracey Ann, Jason A., Steven J. and Colin M. Martz; Mrs. Robert (Heather) Kuban, Sage Kimmel; Bradley, Samuel and Emma Polen; Justin Paul Asprer, and Ms. Lindsey Straka and great-grandchildren, Jayden Alexander, Paul Asprer, and Brady Hillegas. Also sister Vivian Harkcom, Cocoa, Fla. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church. A 1941 graduate of Somerset High School. Attended Williamsport Technical School. Veteran of World War II US Army 9th Air Corp. Member of VFW Post 554 for 57 years. American Legion Post 181 and Somerset Lodge 358 F. & A.M. Retired in 1967 as supervisor for U.S. Postal Service at the Somerset Post Office. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Hauger Zeigler Funeral Home Somerset. Service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset. Rev. Robert Hoover officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial park.
