SAMSON MARTZ

  Samson Martz passed away on Tuesday evening, March 3rd, at 10 p.m., at the age 
of 83 years, after an illness over a period of five months.  He was born in 
Northampton Township where he made his home until 1902 when he moved to Trans-
Meyersdale until 1921 when he moved in with his youngest son, James Martz, in 
Meyersdale, with whom he was living at the time of his death.  Mrs. Martz 
preceded her husband to the grave twenty-one years ago.  They are survived by 
the following children: Charles H., Austin G. Martz and James Martz and Mrs. 
Joseph Leazier, all of Meyersdale; also by sixteen grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren.  Funeral services will be conducted in the Evangelical Church on 
Friday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be made in the Union Cemetery, with Undertaker 
Joseph L. Tressler in charge of the arrangements.
