WILLIAM MARTZ

  William Martz died at his home, Meyersdale R.D. 3, Thursday, Jan. 3, at the 
age of 73 years, 9 months and 19 days.
  He was born March 14, 1872, a son of Levi and Julia (Moser) Martz.
  Surviving are these children: Mrs. J. C. Wetmiller, Alexandria, Va.; Harry 
Martz, Meyersdale R.D. 2; Mrs. Norman Handwerk, Newburgh, N.Y.; Ralph, at home; 
and Mrs. Harry Schrock, Garrett R.D.; and five grandchildren and one great 
grandchild.  The following sisters also survive: Mrs. Ida Hahn, Mrs. Edward 
Lenhart, Mrs. Edward Hayes, Meyersdale, R.D. 2; Mrs. Sadie Miller and Mrs. Irvin 
Fike, Meyersdale, and Mrs. Ellen Baker, Fairhope, and Mrs. Maude Simstrem of 
Minnesota.  His wife died twelve years ago.
  Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, Jan. 6, at the Martz home by Rev. 
David Shaffer, supply pastor of the Meyersdale Lutheran Church.  Interment was 
made in Union Cemetery, under the direction of H. R. Konhaus.
