Mason, 61, of Grantsville, Md., died Feb. 25, 1981 at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born at Jennings, Md., he was a son of Eliza Jane (Burkholder) Mason of Route 2, Grantsville, and the late Wilson Mason. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Jennings Church of God. Surviving besides his mother, are his widow, Elma (Bittinger) Mason; one son, Regis Mason of Grantsville; four daughters, Mrs. Retha Hare and Mrs. Betty Swauger, both of Grantsville, Mrs. Teresa Broadwater, of Salisbury; and Mrs. Audrey Seifert, of Meyersdale; two foster children, Miss Sharon Wilt and Richard Wilt, both at home; five brothers, Galen Mason of Salisbury; Ellis Mason of Listonburg; Paul Mason of Akron, Ohio, Herbert Mason and Dewey Mason, both of Jennings; two sisters, Mrs. Hulda Bittinger of Grantsville and Mrs. Leona Bennett, Hagerstown, Md.; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home where services were held at the funeral home. The Rev. George Plants officiated. Interment will be in the Bittinger Cemetery.
