Mason, 69, Brookville, Fla., died March 9, 2002, at Oak Hill Hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1932, in Nanty Glo, the son of Homer and Thelma Smith Mason. Survivors include his wife, Jean; three sons, Robert W., Lake Charles, La.; Thomas A., Hyde Park, Vt.; and James E., Richardson, Texas; two daughters, Mary K. Johnson, Youngstown, Ohio and Sally Ann Levi, Atlanta Ga.; brother, Homer Mason, Pittsburgh; three sisters, Gertrude Lape, Markleton; Leah Teel, Bloomington, Minn.; and Patricia Woy, Somerset; and nine grandchildren. He was a 1950 graduate of Somerset High School and a graduate of General Motors Institute, Flint, Mich. He was employed by General Motors plant divisions in Flint and Grand Blanc, Mich., retiring as plant manager of Lordstown, Ohio plant. He relocated to Salem S.C. and was a resident of Brookville, the past four years. A member of F&M Lodge No. 174, Flint; the Silverthorn Country Club and Nativity Lutheran Church, where he served as president of the church council. A memorial service was held March 13, at Nativity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. William Roen officiating. Interment was in columbarium in the church courtyard.
