She had been seriously ill for over a month. Mrs. Mathias was a native of this county and was born September 26, 1859. On October 7, 1877, she was married to George Mathias, the ceremony being performed at Wittemberg. Mrs. Mathias belonged to a family of one son and four daughters. Of the sisters two have now died as also the brother. The surviving sisters are: Mrs. H. Smith of Pittsburg, and Mrs. James Crosby of Zearing, Iowa. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons and four daughters - Chas. of Donora, Pa., Thos., of Pittsburg, Mrs. Henry Albright, of Berlin; Mrs. Chas. Siehle, of Pittsburg, Mrs. Chas. Hartley, of Deland, Fla. and Mrs. Oscar Gurley, of this place. Mrs. Mathias was a consistent Christian woman, a faithful wife, a good neighbor and a loyal member of the church. Her remains were laid to rest on Friday afternoon, services being conducted by her pastor, Rev. A. E. Truxal, D. D. of the Amity Reformed Church. Meyersdale Commercial, Apr. 1, 1915
