  GEORGE A. MATSE
  
  George A. Matse, 73, of Maurer Drive, Boswell RD, formerly of
  Hooversville, died Feb. 12, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center in
  Johnstown.  Born May 30, 1928 in Hooversville.  Son of John Sr. and
  Mary V. (Mattie) Matse.  Preceded in death by parents, and wife
  JoAnne (Oaks) on Feb. 17, 1993.  Survived by these children, Diane
  married to Christopher Maurer of Boswell RD, Connie married to Frank
  A. Bendick, Boswell; Georgina married to John R. Miller, Somerset RD;
  and Ronald and wife Cindi, of Hudson, Mich., grandchildren, Jeff and
  Tim Maurer, Alex Bendick, Joshua Matse and wife Misty (Horner) and
  Marcie Matse.  Step-grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Jacob and Bobby
  Moran.  Brothers, John Jr. married to the former Darlene Beltrami,
  Central City, and Edward married to the former Anna Mae Oster,
  Chambersburg.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Member
  of All Saints Catholic Parish and the Boswell Post 461 American
  Legion.  Army veteran of the Korean War.  Former truck driver for
  Hahns and Superior meat packing companies.  Avid sports fan and
  beloved father and grandfather who will be remembered for his
  generosity and sense of humor.  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to
  9 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where
  vigil for the deceased will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday.  Funeral mass
  at 10 a.m. Friday at All Saints Church, Boswell.  Rev. Father Martin
  Breski O.F.M. Conv. celebrant.  Interment, Saint Stanislaus Cemetery,
  Boswell.  In lieu of flowers, donations in George's name may be sent
  to American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 700,
  Pittsburgh, Pa. 15235.
