    JoAnne (Oaks) Matse, 59, Boswell RD 3, died Feb. 17, 1993, at
  Conemaugh Hospital.  Born Aug. 12, 1933, in Gray, daughter of Herman
  and Margaret (Ross) Oaks.  Preceded in death by father, infant
  brother and sister, Betty Jane.  Survived by mother, Cairnbrook RD 1;
  husband, George; children: Diane, wife of Christopher Maurer, Boswell
  RD 3; Connie, wife of Frank A. Bendick, Boswell; Georgine Matse and
  John R. Miller, Somerset RD 2, and Ronald G., married to Tammy
  Zimmerman, Boswell RD 2; also grandchildren: Jeff and Tim Maurer,
  Alex Bendick, Josh and Marcie Matse.  Sister of Robert, married to
  Naomi Reckner, Jerome; Terry, married to Betty Thomas, Hollsopple;
  Billie Sue Zapotosky, Central City RD, and Jack, married to Miriam
  Koffman, Cairnbrook RD 1; also numerous nieces and nephews.  Beloved
  wife, mother and grandmother.  Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m.
  Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral
  Home, Main Street, Boswell, where wake service will be held at 7:30
  p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Father Blase Wegierski O.F.M. Conv. 
  Service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Father
  Harold N. Biller officiating.  Interment, St. Stanislaus Cemetery,
  Boswell.
